(That Strong One)
Into the mirror she stares looking to find her beauty. It boldly
Stares right back at her yet she has this tendency to not
Really want to see it. Because at times it’s been
Malnourished by years of pain and insecurities.
Then she remembers her worth and bounces back to
The truth, reality. She understands that all she
Can count on in her reflection is the image of that realistic
Beauty. The beauty that has its cuts as deep as yours,
Yet unique enough to be identified as just hers.
If only to be true, feeling some days as though
Through someone else her life has left, but again
Remembering who she is and choosing not to compromise herself
-a simple statement that speaks strength back within itself.
